Project Overview

GolfPass is Golf Channel's one stop place to watch, learn and play golf. When this project first started, we were limited in what we could do due to utilizing a new CMS and theme. I was given the chance to redesign the site widget by widget not ideal, but I made it work.

My Contributions

I recreated the hero section, benefits, featured content block as well as added a bit more clarity to the content items throughout the site with meta tags and badging.

Discovery

I started gathering inspiration from sites such as Netflix, HULU, CBS, NBC and ABC streaming as well as some sports streaming solutions. Some of the key takeaways are the darker theme as well as just showing the breath of content. There were a few challenges with this project. First there was a lack of CMS knowledge. This was the first project utilizing this new CMS. There were some development bottlenecks that hampered the design in the early stages of this project. Due to this fact I worked with the provided theme. Over time that old theme is 99% gone and I have been able to really make this site come to life.
